The Mobile Maritime Leadership Scholarship fund was established in 2009 to recognize and promote leadership in the maritime industry, particularly in the Port of Mobile. The scholarship program is intended to provide financial assistance to students who have demonstrated high levels of academic performance and leadership, and who intend to further their education in the maritime field. The scholarship fund is sponsored jointly by the Propeller Club – Port of Mobile and the Seamen’s Club of Mobile, Inc.
To be eligible to participate in the Mobile Maritime Leadership Scholarship Program, the candidate, at the time of application, must be a current or prospective full-time student of an accredited four-year college or university, or full-time student seeking an advanced degree (beyond a bachelor’s degree) at an accredited university.
In awarding the scholarship, priority will be given to applicants pursuing areas of study leading to a career in the maritime field.
The applications period opens in the spring, and the scholarship is awarded at our annual meeting in June. The application packet is available through the link below:
Applications open until two weeks before Propeller Club Annual Meeting.
